Good Eye Care Begins With A Yearly Eye Exam!

Although many do not realize it, the best way to protect your vision is with a yearly eye checkup. Even a basic eye exam can instantly detect such health-threatening conditions as eye infections, tumors, vascular irregularities, and diabetes-related injury to the retina. At Granger Eye Studio, that basic checkup is brief and painless.

What we check during your routine evaluation:

Dr. Granger and his staff are always checking and making sure you have good vision. Your total eye health is extremely important to us and we do everything we can to make sure you receive the best personalized care possible.

Did you know that the shape of your cornea largely determines how the light travels into your eye and where the image is produced? We measure your cornea’s unique shape and strength and check for any irregularities. We compare this information to what we learn during your visual exam to recommend the best options available to you with all the latest technology!

Exam-femaleWe check for glaucoma, a disease where high levels of pressure inside of your eye are present when your eyes fail to regulate internal pressure. Early detection of glaucoma is crucial to prevent the loss of sight.

Diabetes has increased in incidence over 700% since 1974 and it is imperative that primary care physicians detect this disease as soon as possible. Therefore, Dr. Granger strongly recommends yearly dilated eye examinations for anyone with one or more risk factors for diabetes. Optometrists can often diagnose unknown diabetes during a dilated eye exam!

We can detect any sign of cataracts-- when the inner lens of your eye becomes cloudy causing more sensitivity to glare or difficulty in low light—and refer you, as needed, if replacing them is neccessary.

Having two eyes is better than one, and seeing with both is called binocular vision. It's when each of your eyes forms its own image and transfers these images to the brain. The brain merges these two images into one. In order for this to occur, your eyes must be aligned and move together and produce the same size and shape image. When this doesn't happen it's difficult to see clearly and usually causes strain and headaches. The alignment of your eyes is critical, so we also assess the ability of your eye muscles to work properly.

Our eye exam is more than a bargain exam
